Shafi Gaffar's relationship with the restaurant world started at age nine, working in his family's restaurant. That early immersion never left him. He went on to work in restaurants through college, and after graduating, stepped into the corporate world — managing multiple national food franchise locations including Jamba Juice, Pete's Coffee, Smashburger, and Dunkin' Donuts. He understood the business from every angle: operations, cost control, customer experience, and what it truly takes to run a successful concept.
But managing other people's brands wasn't enough. In 2011, Shafi hand-built his first restaurant himself. That one location grew into 29 locations across different concepts — each one built, refined, and operated with the same hands-on intensity. After selling most of those locations and keeping a select few, Shafi made a deliberate choice: to take everything he had learned and pour it into helping others build theirs.
